Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Latticeshot (“Latticeshot”, “we”, “us”) is a free web app at latticeshot.com for making photo collages and Instagram carousels. This policy explains what information Latticeshot handles, why, and the choices you have.
The short version
- Your photos and videos are processed entirely on your device. They are never uploaded to us, including photos you add from Google Photos or Adobe Lightroom.
- If you choose to save a project, it goes to a private Latticeshot folder in your own Google Drive, not to us. We only count how many projects you save and open.
- You can use Latticeshot without an account. If you sign in with Google, we keep your name, email address and a user ID to run your account.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which features are used, but only if you accept analytics cookies.
- If you send feedback, we store your message, and your email address if you give it.
- We don’t sell personal information and we don’t use it for advertising.
1. Your photos and collages
When you add photos, from your device, Google Photos or Adobe Lightroom, they are opened and edited inside your browser. Collages you export are created on your device and saved or shared by your browser. Latticeshot has no servers that receive, store or analyse your photos, and we never see them. When you close or reload the page, the photos are gone from Latticeshot, unless you saved the collage as a project in your Google Drive (section 4).
Videos you add from your device are handled the same way: they’re played, combined and turned into a new video inside your browser, and are never uploaded to us. Projects with videos can’t be saved to Google Drive yet.
2. Signing in with Google (optional)
You can sign in with your Google account to save projects to Google Drive, to use Google Photos and to link your feedback to you. Sign-in happens on Google’s own page; Latticeshot never sees your Google password. Accounts are run by Google Firebase Authentication. When you sign in we receive and store:
- your name and email address from your Google profile, and a user ID created by Firebase;
- the date you created your account and last signed in.
We use this to run your account, to tell you apart from other users, to count how many people use Latticeshot, and to reply to feedback. You can delete your account at any time from the account menu in the editor (“Delete account”), which removes it from Firebase. Signing out removes the sign-in from your browser.
3. Google Photos (optional)
You can add photos from Google Photos using Google’s Photos Picker. Latticeshot asks for permission to see only
the photos you choose (the photospicker.mediaitems.readonly scope); it can’t browse the rest of your
library.
- What Latticeshot reads. For each photo you pick: its file name, size and a download link, and the photo itself.
- How it’s used. Only to add the photos you picked to your collage, inside your browser. Photos go directly from Google to your device and aren’t sent to us or anyone else. We don’t keep copies.
- Access tokens. Google gives your browser a temporary access token, valid for about an hour, which is stored only in your browser. Latticeshot doesn’t change or delete anything in your Google Photos.
- Revoking access. Sign out in Latticeshot, or remove Latticeshot at any time in your Google account settings.
4. Saving projects to Google Drive (optional)
You can save a collage as a project and keep editing it later, on any device where you sign in. Projects are
stored in your own Google Drive, in a hidden folder that only Latticeshot can use (the
drive.appdata scope). Latticeshot can’t see or change any other file in your Drive, and other apps
can’t see Latticeshot’s folder.
- What’s saved. For each project: the project name, its layout, size, style and photo positions, a copy of each photo in it, and a small preview image. Large photos may be saved as high-quality JPEGs no larger than 3072 pixels on the long side. The files count towards your Google Drive storage.
- How it’s used. Only to show your projects and open them in Latticeshot, inside your browser. Files go directly between your device and Google Drive and aren’t sent to us or anyone else.
- Usage counts. So we can see how many people use projects, we store, under your user ID in Cloud Firestore, how many times you saved and opened a project, when you last did, and how many projects you have. It contains no photos, project names or file contents.
- Deleting. Delete projects in “My projects”. To remove everything at once, open Google Drive settings, choose “Manage apps”, then “Delete hidden app data” for Latticeshot. Deleting your Latticeshot account doesn’t delete these files, because they’re in your Drive, not with us. Removing Latticeshot’s access in your Google account settings stops it reading them.
Latticeshot’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs, including Google Photos and Google Drive, adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don’t use Google user data for advertising, we don’t sell it, we don’t use it to train AI models, and no person at Latticeshot views your photos or projects.
5. Adobe Lightroom (optional)
You can choose to add photos from your Adobe Lightroom library. Latticeshot uses Adobe’s official Lightroom Services API, and only when you start it:
- Signing in. You sign in on Adobe’s own page, in a separate window. Latticeshot never sees your Adobe password. Adobe asks you to approve access and then gives your browser an access token. Adobe’s handling of your data is described in the Adobe Privacy Policy.
- What Latticeshot reads. Your Lightroom catalog ID, album names, basic photo details (such as file name and dimensions) and preview images of your photos, so you can browse your library. For the photos you choose, it also reads a full-size or 2048-pixel image with your Lightroom edits applied.
- How it’s used. Only to show your library and add the photos you choose to your collage, inside your browser. Lightroom data goes directly from Adobe to your device and isn’t sent to us or anyone else.
- Read-only. Latticeshot doesn’t upload, change or delete anything in your Lightroom library. To give you full-resolution images, it may ask Adobe to generate a temporary full-size preview of a photo you chose. Adobe deletes these automatically.
- Disconnecting. Choose “Sign out” in the Lightroom window in Latticeshot to delete the stored sign-in from your browser. You can also remove Latticeshot’s access at any time in your Adobe account settings.
6. Analytics and cookies
With your permission, Latticeshot uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit and which features they use, for example which layouts are popular or how often collages are exported. When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. If you choose “Reject”, Google Analytics isn’t loaded at all and no analytics cookies are set.
If you accept, Google Analytics collects:
- pages viewed, how you arrived (for example from a search engine), and approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address, which Google Analytics 4 doesn’t store);
- device and browser type, screen size and language;
- events in the editor, such as adding photos (the source and how many, never the photos), splitting a panorama, exporting (format, size and number of slides), saving and opening projects, signing in and sending feedback.
It sets these cookies on latticeshot.com: _ga and _ga_5N4Q00GQ9Z, which hold a random
ID to recognise returning visitors and last up to two years. Google Signals and advertising features are turned
off. Google processes this data for us under the
Google Ads Data Processing Terms; see
how Google uses information from sites that use
its services. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page or in
the editor’s menu; choosing “Reject” also deletes these cookies.
7. Feedback
If you send feedback from the app, we store your message, its topic, your email address if you give one, the page you were on, your browser details (user agent), the time, and your user ID if you’re signed in. We use this to understand problems, improve Latticeshot and reply to you. Feedback is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the United States and can’t be read by other visitors. We keep it as long as it’s useful for improving Latticeshot, and delete it on request.
8. Information stored in your browser
Latticeshot saves a few small items in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device.
| Item | Purpose | Kept until |
|---|---|---|
collagio.consent |
Remembers your cookie choice. | You clear your browser data |
collagio.install.offers, collagio.install.lastOffer |
How many times, and when, we last suggested adding Latticeshot to your home screen, so we don’t ask too often. | You clear your browser data |
collagio.signature |
Only if you add a signature: its text and style, so it’s ready for your next collage. | You clear your browser data |
collagio.google.session |
Only if you sign in with Google: your name, email, user ID, Firebase sign-in tokens and, if you connected Google Photos or Google Drive, a temporary Google access token. | You sign out, delete your account, or clear your browser data |
collagio.lightroom.session |
Only if you connect Lightroom: the Adobe access token (and, if Adobe issues one, a refresh token), its expiry time and your Lightroom catalog ID, so you stay signed in. | You select “Sign out”, Adobe expires the sign-in, or you clear your browser data |
collagio.google.callback, collagio.lightroom.* (other) |
Short-lived values used to finish signing in. | Sign-in completes |
Your browser also caches the app’s own files so it loads faster. These items are needed for features you use. You can delete them at any time in your browser’s settings.
9. Hosting and service providers
Latticeshot is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting. Like any web server, it receives technical data needed to deliver the site to you, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. Google also runs Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Google Analytics for us. Google processes this data on our behalf under the Firebase data processing terms and its privacy and security commitments, and may process it in the United States and other countries, protected by standard contractual clauses.
10. Legal bases (EEA and UK)
- Consent for analytics cookies, and for Google Photos, Google Drive and Lightroom access. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Performing our agreement with you to provide your account when you sign in.
- Legitimate interests in improving Latticeshot from feedback you choose to send, and in keeping the service secure.
11. Sharing and selling
We don’t sell, rent or trade personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers above, or if required by law. When you share a collage, for example to Instagram through your device’s share sheet, it goes directly from your device to the app you choose, and that app’s privacy policy applies.
12. Children
Latticeshot is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 in the European Economic Area and the UK, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete, export or object to the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. You can delete your account yourself in the editor, change your cookie choice with “Cookie settings”, and clear everything stored in your browser in its settings. For anything else, contact us using the details below. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
14. Security
Latticeshot is served only over HTTPS. Google and Adobe sign-in use OAuth 2.0, so your passwords are never shared with Latticeshot. Tokens are sent only to the service that issued them.
15. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how your information is handled, we’ll also say so in the app.
